Mmm. Not too sure about this blogging thing. In general musicians are better off making music than talking about it, though that hasn’t stopped me from talking in concert or even doing the odd chat-based programme on Radio 3. What does anyone actually want to read here, though? I’ve stopped looking at Facebook as it’s full of people saying how they feel every 10 seconds which I’d rather not know so I’d better not do that here. Ah, I already am. I’ll try to be succint in any case – there’s always a first time for that.
It’s quite quiet on the actual Fagiolini concert work at the moment so I’m writing a Radio 3 script on Renaissance and early Baroque multi-choir music. Like Douglas Adams, I seem to need to be locked in a building actually to start the writing although I don’t do as many baths as him. Producer Rebecca Bean is being gentle with me at the moment but I haven’t told her how many players and singers I need and we’re recording in three weeks so I’d better stop writing this blog and write the programme instead.
